Impressive answer! DRS failed to balance the cluster resources. Why? This is your best answer... Because sometimes the affinity rules prevent VM to migrate to another host in the cluster. It causes the DRS cluster to unbalance. The interviewer expectation is that you will highlight why DRS failed to balance a cluster and describe some reasons.
Whoever is asking will be impressed if you also mention... If I create rules that say these VMs cannot be next to each other on the same host, VMware will not let me move them to the same host. So it’s a rather simple fix, I could just add more hosts so the VM can go somewhere else, or disable the rule. If I'm running Fully Automated clusters, I don’t expect to manually run DRS and see much activity. I really should see nothing as VMware is doing it for you. See ITSA image.
