Impressive answer! What would happen if we add the same VLAN Id to two Virtual machine adapter? This is your best answer... There should not be any issue. We can assign the same VLAN ID to one or multiple port groups. But in a critical production environment we always separate different types of communication.
Whoever is asking will be impressed if you also mention.. With VMWare we have a number of virtual switches and we can add a number of virtual nics to our VM guests. The numbers and features available depend on the edition/version/host type we're using.
