B. In the alarm rule definitions
C. In the ESXi host system config for the cluster node hosting the vCenter Server Appliance
D. In Administration settings in the vCenter Server Management Interface
How does vCenter differ from vSphere? Answer: vCenter is installed on a server that either runs on UNIX or Windows. This can either be a desktop or a laptop. On the other hand, vSphere is an application management system that can be managed in a centralized manner. It controls virtual machines centrally.
What ports are needed if an administrator wants to connect vSphere net consumer with ESXi directly? Answer: It may be necessary to use multiple ports for connecting vSphere net consumer with ESXi. These include 443 TCP, 902 TCP and UDP, and 903 TCP ports. An administrator and open these ports for operation from security profile.
What is Vlockstep Technology? Answer: It is a technology that is used to transfer data from a primary virtual machine to a secondary virtual machine. The data includes events, movements, and inputs. The technology helps capture these elements on a primary server and sends them to the secondary server.
👽 Note: The flow chart and troubleshooting steps are based on real experience, other troubleshooting steps could be done in different situations.
👽 Note: Ensure that the mapped iSCSI initiator name on the SAN array exactly matches (including upper and lower case) the name listed in the properties of the iSCSI initiator on the ESXi host to avoid any connectivity issues.
What is the minimum number of virtual NICs (vNIC) that you can configure for a virtual machine (VM)?
A. Four
B. One
C. Zero
D. Two

ITSA: Plan, build, run, and manage your private or hybrid cloud environment. Unplanned events such as COVID-19 and travel restrictions make it nearly impossible to continue “business as usual.”
To ensure your business can continue normal operations, you need to enable your employees to work remotely and maintain productivity, increase connectivity, and provide for continuous, secure access to applications across endpoints. We’re here to help. ITSA: VMware Engineering Consulting.
There are 2 Ways in vSphere that you can separate traffic from different networks (ex. ESXi Management and vMotion) on the same ESXi Hosts. You can either create separate vSwitches using dedicated NICs or if NICs are not available you could also create separate port groups using different VLAN IDs on the same vSwitch.
The following image shows you how 2 VMkernels port groups "MGMT & vMotion" go through different port groups with VLANs 10 & 20 in the same vSphere Standard Switch (vSS) 0.
VMware: VMworld 2018 US in Las Vegas. VMworld is absolutely jam-packed with sessions, labs, events and more. While the parties and networking events are always a memorable part of the conference, the sessions, workshops, and opportunities to meet up with the experts are the meat of VMworld.
Getting access to numerous sessions is an amazing way to get exposure to new ideas, but sometimes nothing beats learning by doing. When you participate in HOL at VMworld, you get to try new labs before they’re released to the public, giving you a competitive edge over your colleagues.
Impressive answer! Why a Virtual Machine (VM) disk cannot be resized and you failed to extend the disk? Your best answer... Most likely the VM got a snapshot. Because when a snapshot is taken the actual VMDK file will be locked and the changes will be written to a new delta file. Due to this reason, the actual VMDK file could not be resized.
It is important to make a good impression on whoever is interviewing you. You can also mention... Also, according to my experience (1) if I edit a VM's settings and then select one of its virtual disks, the option to resize the disk will be grayed out. (2) When I try to extend the disk using vmkftools for resizing, I will get this error: Failed to extend the disk. Failed to lock the file. (3) When I extend the disk using vSphere client, the changes will not get reflected.
If the Software iSCSI LUNs disappear after rebooting or upgrading the ESXi host. How do you add them back? This happens when the iSCSI configuration is corrupted. To fix it, you must reinitialize the iSCSI configuration.
